Wheel of the Year
As the Wheel of the Year turns, we dance through each season and celebrate the magic in its rhythm
We start with Samhain
Beginning of the darker days
Where the veil grows thin
And beloved dead we praise
Then comes Yule
Shortest day and longest night
Gingerbread wafts from the kitchen
Building our appetites
Next arrives Imbolc
Snowdrops breaking ground
We feast in Brigid’s honor
She keeps us safe and sound
After Imbolc is Ostara
The return of warmth and light
Seeds planted for new beginnings
Warmer days are now in sight
Then we welcome Beltane
Around the Maypole we dance
Mild weather and full blooms
Our happiness is enhanced
Midsummer comes afterward
Longest day and shortest night
Sitting together by the bonfire
Everything feels bright
Next we have Lughnasadh
The beginning of the harvest
Bake blessings in our bread
Think of all that we’ve accomplished
Last, we honor Mabon
Giving thanks for all we’ve got
The leaves begin to turn
It’s Autumn, nature’s brought!
