Hello Dear Readers,
This evening, April 12th, 2025, at 8:22pm EST, we will experience a Full Moon at 23 degrees of Libra. This full moon emphasizes the Libran themes of balance, justice, harmony and integrity.
The Sun and Chiron are also making a conjunction in Aries, opposing the moon, while Venus stations direct in Pisces. Chiron is known as the “wounded healer.” If old and tender wounds feel as if they have reopened, it is only because they need mending and this time with a new approach.
This lunation asks us to consider self and other — the personal and the collective.

Sometimes, I lose my sense of self in relationship. As a Libra Rising, my self-concept is shaped by my desire to please others and maintain harmony. While I appreciate this aspect of myself, I also find it frustrating. Worried that speaking my truth will make others feel uneasy, I hold my tongue. This is not fair to anyone. I want to move forward with integrity — balancing self and other.
I am grateful for the cardinal energy of Aries and Libra, which propels us towards self actualization and collective liberation.
Libra is an air sign. The element of air in the tarot corresponds to the suit of swords. The swords rule our communication, intellect and the thinking mind. Our words are magic. Think about the word spelling… spell-ing.
I have been reading the book Radical Friendship, by Kate Johnson and meditating on a series of questions she asks:
“Can you imagine a world where you are free from the baggage of your personal and relational conditioning, free of clinging, fear and shame? Can you imagine a world free of systems of oppression? How would living in such a world influence your relationships with other people? With yourself? Until we can create a world free of systemic oppression, is there a way you can imagine yourself being free inside of these systems?” (p.96)
Can we answer these questions, wielding the sword of truth? Can we harness the energy of this full moon and speak truth to power?
Libra teaches us that beauty and justice are inseparable. A just world is a beautiful world: where everyone is housed, clothed, and fed. Where trans and queer people can live and love safely. Where the Earth is respected and cared for. Where Palestine is free.
In honor of the full moon, I have anointed a green candle with almond oil and dried rose petals. I’ve also been listening to Nala Sinephro's instrumental jazz album Endlessness. I loved this podcast episode about the Justice card from Your Creative and Magical Life by Cecily Sailer with guest host Maria Minnis, author of Tarot for the Hard Work.
Tonight, I will set a bowl of water out under the glow of the full moon. In the coming days, I’ll pour the charged moon water into a chalice and set it on my altar. I’ll mist my plants with it or use it with my watercolors paints and pencils.
